Welcome to the online home of Rock Formations, Inc. - the pioneer builders of artificial rock pools in Southern California since 1979. We specialize in using custom designed cast rock to create beautiful lagoon pools that last a lifetime. Based in Orange, California, our work can be found not only in southern California but also select locations across the country and internationally.

We add rock features to conventional swimming pools including waterfalls, caves, slides, beach entries and rock type decking. Many of our projects are all-rock pools without any conventional tile, coping or decking. We pioneered the rock formation pool in the early 1980's.

Although we are best known for our custom work, we have a new process for building structural waterfalls called RicoRock that allows various qualified applicators across the U.S. to build standardized waterfalls and rockwork at about half the cost of custom work. Wherever you live in the U.S., chances are we have an affiliate that can build a RicoRock waterfall for you or we can work with them on a consulting basis to build your custom rockwork within your budget.
